Montgomery County Department of Parks
Special Announcement

The Commission is considering the approval of a request to dedicate a soccer field at Aberdeen Local Park in North Potomac in honor of Mr. Jeff Kauffman, a local girls’ club soccer coach. Mr. Kauffman coached soccer in Aberdeen Local Park serving the local soccer community for well over 15 years. Mr. Kauffman’s coaching won his soccer teams many championships earning him the title of Eastern Region Youth Coach of the Year in 2004, as well as Classic Coach of the Year in 2003 for MSI, and the 2003-2004 United States Eastern Region Youth Coach of the Year by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). Most notable among Mr. Kauffman’s greatest achievements in girls’ soccer are the many ways he helped shape the lives of the young women he coached.
The Commission will be considering this request within the next 30 days. If you would like to comment on this proposal, please send you comments to Mr. Terry Brooks, Chief, Special Program Division at www.terry.brooks@montgomeryparks.org no later than April 1, 2009.
