Please note:

  1. Unless otherwise noted, Planning Board meetings are held on Thursdays and begin at 9:00 a.m. The agenda is subject to change and certain items may be postponed or added.
  2. The Planning Board encourages public testimony unless otherwise noted on the agenda. Refer to the Planning Board Rules of Procedure for more information on public testimony. Any individual or organization not scheduled for public testimony may submit a written statement for consideration by the Planning Board. Written comments should be submitted at least 24 hours in advance of the Planning Board hearing date with reference to the matter to ensure that all comments will be included in the record before the Commission. Written comments received on the day of the hearing via email, fax, or postal mail may not be considered by the Planning Board or included in the record unless the Chairman specifically leaves the record open. Comments should be transmitted via e-mail to MCP-Chair@mncppc-mc.org, faxed to Chairman Royce Hanson at 301-495-1320, or addressed to: Royce Hanson, Chairman, Montgomery County Planning Board, 8787 Georgia Avenue Silver Spring, Maryland 20910.
  3. Occasionally due to time constraints, the Planning Board may limit the total amount of time dedicated to public testimony. Total time limits will be listed on the agenda. Public testimony will not be taken for items identified as Briefings, Worksessions and/or Roundtables. On other occassions when no public testimony will be taken, the agenda will specifiy.
  4. Sign up online or call 301-495-4600 to testify on any agenda item in advance of a hearing.
  5. Listen to the Planning Board proceedings live on our website: www.montgomeryplanningboard.org. Or on Thursdays, call 301-495-1333 for a recorded message on the status of the agenda.
  6. The Planning Board makes the final decision on any agenda items with an (*). On such matters, Maryland law and the Planning Board’s Rules of Procedure prohibit any member of the public from directly contacting or communicating with Board members outside the public hearing setting. See the Outside Communications section of the Planning Board Rules of Procedure for more information.

Join our Resources ReThink Montgomery speakers, Adeela Abbasi, Ruthie Mundell and Jason Holstine.
Adeela Abbasi
is the Marketing and Communications Manager at the ReStore. Habitat ReStore is a nonprofit retail outlet specializing in the resale of donated new and used quality home furnishings, appliances and building supplies at 50-70% off retail prices. All proceeds go to building affordable housing for low-income families in Montgomery County.
Ruthie Mundell
, Outreach Coordinator at Community Forklift. Community Forklift helps communities by making repairs and renovations more affordable, reducing construction and industry waste, promoting environmentally-friendly building materials and methods, and developing career opportunities for nearby residents.
Jason Holstine
, founder and president of Amicus Green Building Center and Amicus Consulting Services, will complete the panel. Amicus is a one-stop source of genuine "green" products, resources, and expert support to help create a healthy, environmentally friendly, stylish, energy smart and sustainable building. Ms. Abbasi, Ms. Mundell and Mr. Holstine will help us ReThink the way we use resources in Montgomery County.

 

The 2010 Montgomery County Planning Department speaker series, Rethink Montgomery, presents ways to connect culture, health, food, knowledge, ecology, economy, local infrastructure, resources, and energy. Join us for our community discussions every Thursday through June 3, 2010.

has received a

PRELIMINARY/FINAL WATER QUALITY PLAN
for
Rainbow Drive Sidewalk & Pavement Removal

This project encompasses approximately two acres of disturbance along Rainbow Drive, and is within the Left Fork of the Upper Paint Branch Watershed. The Upper Paint Branch Watershed is a designated Special Protection Area. The project proposes to remove existing pavement to comply with pavement removal requirements associated with sidewalk that was constructed in 2008 along portions of Cape May Road and Good Hope Road.

 

If you wish to request a public information meeting, a written request must be submitted to this office within 15 days of this notice, posted April 16, 2010. The Water Quality Plans are available for review at the Department of Permitting Services office during working hours (8:00am-4:00pm Monday through Friday).

for
Thompson Road Connection


This project encompasses approximately one acre of disturbance on Thompson Road, and is within the Left Fork of the Upper Paint Branch Watershed. The Upper Paint Branch Watershed is a designated Special Protection Area. The project proposes to provide approximately 300 feet of two-lane roadway, 24-feet in width, from the terminus of Rainbow Drive to Thompson Road. This project will improve the flow of traffic from Briggs Chaney Middle School and improve the roadway network connectivity for the community.

If you wish to request a public information meeting, a written request must be submitted to this office within 15 days of this notice, posted April 16, 2010.
