  1. Unless otherwise noted, Planning Board meetings are held on Thursdays and begin at 9:00 a.m. The agenda is subject to change and certain items may be postponed or added.
  2. The Planning Board encourages public testimony unless otherwise noted on the agenda. Refer to the Planning Board Rules of Procedure for more information on public testimony. Any individual or organization not scheduled for public testimony may submit a written statement for consideration by the Planning Board. Written comments should be submitted at least 24 hours in advance of the Planning Board hearing date with reference to the matter to ensure that all comments will be included in the record before the Commission. Written comments received on the day of the hearing via email, fax, or postal mail may not be considered by the Planning Board or included in the record unless the Chairman specifically leaves the record open.   3. Occasionally due to time constraints, the Planning Board may limit the total amount of time dedicated to public testimony. Total time limits will be listed on the agenda. Public testimony will not be taken for items identified as Briefings, Worksessions and/or Roundtables. On other occassions when no public testimony will be taken, the agenda will specifiy.
  4. Sign up online or call 301-495-4600 to testify on any agenda item in advance of a hearing.
  5. Listen to the Planning Board proceedings live on our website: www.montgomeryplanningboard.org. Or on Thursdays, call 301-495-1333 for a recorded message on the status of the agenda.
  6. The Planning Board makes the final decision on any agenda items with an (*). On such matters, Maryland law and the Planning Board’s Rules of Procedure prohibit any member of the public from directly contacting or communicating with Board members outside the public hearing setting. What are the future energy demands facing the country and the region? A. Michael Schaal, Director of the Energy Information Administration’s Oil and Gas Division, will discuss his office’s primary focus—producing the oil and natural gas and biofuels projections for Energy Information Administration’s Annual Energy Outlook. Mr. Schaal’s prior experience includes working as a professional engineer with Bechtel Corporation of San Francisco where he was involved in economic analysis, engineering, construction, and operations of first-of-a-kind facilities, and as a consultant with Energy Ventures Analysis, Inc. advising clients on natural gas and power sector issues. Mr. Schaal received his B.S. in electrical engineering from the California State University in 1986, and his Masters degree in Mineral Economics from The Pennsylvania State University in 1995.

Special Notice


Due to the significant reduction in the Department of Parks current FY10 and projected FY11- FY12 Budgets, effective immediately, all unsolicited Public/Private Partnership Proposal applications have been suspended until further notice. The Department can no longer expend its limited funding resources in support of receiving, evaluating, and managing unsolicited partnership proposals that are not part of the current annual work plan for the Department of Parks.

 

The Department will consider exceptions to this position if an unsolicited public/private partnership proposal: 1. Is financially and managerially self-sustaining; 2. Has the capacity to generate significant revenue to the Department; 3. Is in fulfillment of an approved work project or program; and 4. Submits a minimum application fee of $5K to cover staff time to review, evaluate, and process the proposal for Montgomery County Planning Board review and consideration.
