Joan Almon was a Waldorf early childhood educator for over thirty years and served as founding Chair of the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America. She is currently focusing on the Alliance for Childhood, a broad-based advocacy group that brings together educators, health professionals and others to work on common concerns, such as the need to restore creative play and other healthy essentials to childhood. At our last event of the series, focused on health, Almon will discuss the vital role of play and how planners can design and build spaces that make it easy for children to be active. |
