INITIATES BI-COUNTY TRANSITWAY PROJECT
The Maryland Transit
Administration has begun planning efforts for the Bi-County Transitway,
formerly known as the Purple Line, connecting Bethesda to New Carrollton.
Public involvement activities to determine the range of alternatives
that will receive further study for the full 14-mile corridor will occur
in Fall, 2003. Public "scoping meetings" will occur at different
locations along the corridor to present the initial alternatives for
the alignments. The public will have the opportunity to provide input
on the potential alignment options and to help identify issues that
should be addressed. The meetings will be held in an "open house"
format where citizens can drop by any time between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.
to view materials and speak to staff. |
