The Montgomery County Planning Board invites public participation in the third in a series of forums to discuss issues of overcrowding, limited facilities, and increased maintenance demands on heavily used soccer fields in our parks. The forum will be held on Monday, December 6, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm Shady Grove Maintenance Yard Training Room, 16641 Crabbs Branch Way, Rockville.

DOG EXERCISE AREAS IN PARKS
Monday, December 13, 7-9 p.m.

M-NCPPC staff is inviting residents to attend a community meeting to comment on sites proposed for possible Dog Exercise Areas. The meeting is scheduled for Monday, December 13, 7-9 p.m., in the Employee Lounge, on the first floor at 8787 Georgia Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20910.
Based on requests from citizens to the County Council, two specific areas were targeted for future Dog Exercise Areas: Cabin John Regional Park area and Leisure World area. Six sites are proposed as most suitable by staff. We are now inviting comments from the public to determine the suitability of these sites for Dog Exercise Areas. Proposed sites include: Norbeck-Muncaster Local Park, East Norbeck Local Park, Olney Manor Recreational Park (two sites proposed), and Cabin John Regional Park (two sites proposed).

PUBLIC INVITED TO TESTIFY AT PUBLIC HEARING
ON PARK POLICE RE-ACCREDITATION
Monday, December 13, 7 p.m.

Representatives of the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) are inviting the public to testify at a Public Hearing on Park Police in Montgomery County, Monday, December 13, 7 p.m., in M-NCPPC's auditorium, 8787 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring. Speakers will be limited to five minutes and must address the agency's ability to comply with CALEA's standards. The Park Police are voluntarily seeking re-accreditation, a prized recognition of law enforcement excellence.
Also on Monday, December 13, the CALEA team will take calls from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. from anyone who is unable to attend the public hearing that night. Those interested in sharing their opinions of the Park Police with the assessors should call 301-929-7800. A copy of the CALEA Standards Manual is available for review at Park Police Headquarters, 12751 Layhill Road in Silver Spring, Maryland.
