The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission Co-Sponsors the “Buena Vida” Health Festival

WHEATON, MD — The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission will mark Hispanic Heritage Month by co-sponsoring the “Buena Vida” Health Fair, in conjunction with the Latino Health Initiative of the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services.

The festival will be held Sunday, October 16th from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Wheaton Regional Park, located at 2000 Shorefield Road, Wheaton, MD 20902. It will include free health screenings for the public, health and community resources information, as well as activities for children and adults. There will also be entertainment by Orquesta Miel and other local dance and musical groups.

The “Buena Vida” campaign celebrates Latino culture and tradition and seeks to promote healthy behaviors as part of the larger effort to eliminate health disparities among Montgomery County Latino residents.
