  2. The Planning Board encourages public testimony unless otherwise noted on the agenda. Written testimony is encouraged. Refer to the Planning Board Rules of Procedure for more information on public testimony.
  3. Occasionally due to time constraints, the Planning Board may limit the total amount of time dedicated to public testimony. Total time limits will be listed on the agenda.

Overview of the Purple Line Alternatives Analysis / Draft Environmental Impact Statement (AA/DEIS), presented by Mike Madden, Project Manager, Maryland Transit Administration. Planning Department staff and the MTA project team will present a summary of the feedback they received during public meetings held in the last six weeks about the proposed alignments.


The Planning Board public hearing on the Purple Line AA/DEIS is scheduled for January 8, 2009 when the Board will hear public comment on the staff recommendations for the Purple Line. The staff recommendations will be available December 22, 2008.

Supplemental Appropriation to the MNCPPC FY 09 Capital Budget and Amendment to the FY 09-14 Capital Improvements Program


SilverPlace, located at 8787 Georgia in the Silver Spring CBD, will feature a new consolidated headquarters for the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, housing, and outstanding public spaces. It will be developed in accordance with a plan established through a community design charrette in June 2008. The project scope, cost, and schedule will be presented as the basis of the funding request


Staff recommendation: Approval to transmit funding request to County Council
