Rachel Carson Greenway Plan Community Meetings Set
Tuesday, October 19, and Tuesday, October 26, 7:30 p.m.

You're invited to participate in community meetings to discuss the Rachel Carson Greenway Trail Corridor Plan, Tuesday, October 19 at the M-NCPPC auditorium, 8787 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, and Tuesday, October 26 at the Olney Library, 3500 Olney-Laytonsville Road, Olney. Both meetings will begin at 7:30 p.m. The Rachel Carson Greenway Trail Corridor, located in the eastern part of Montgomery County, stretches 21 miles from the Prince George's County line northward to the Patuxent River.
At both meetings, participants are encouraged to review and comment on the proposed trail concept maps in a workshop setting and share their ideas and thoughts with the community and planners. Proposed New Policies and Fees for the Operation of Private Camps
in Montgomery County Parks

The Montgomery County Planning Board invites you to comment on a staff proposal to set policies and fees for the operation of private camps on parklands owned and operated by the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission. If adopted, the policies and fees would apply to camps operated during the summer of 2005.

The Montgomery County Planning Board invites you to comment on the operating budget and potential public/private partnerships at a Public Forum, Thursday, October 21, 7:30 p.m., at 8787 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, Maryland.
Operating budgets include park design and maintenance; master planning, environmental and transportation planning, subdivision review, administration and other operating expenses. (CIP budgets include engineering and construction of new facilities; renovations of existing playgrounds, recreation buildings, offices, parking lots, parkways, trails, and other facilities.)
In addition to testimony on the operating budget, you're invited to comment on current and possible future public/private partnerships. As part of the process, the Board has identified a number of new potential partnerships and is seeking additional partnership ideas from residents, organizations and businesses.

You have a formal opportunity to express your views to the Planning Board on the concepts, individual recommendations and implementation techniques discussed in the draft Master Plan.
