has received a

PRELIMINARY/FINAL WATER QUALITY PLAN

for

UPPER PAINT BRANCH SIDEWALK ADDITIONS

The proposal is to add sidewalk along sections of Briggs Chaney Road, Goodhope Road, Capemay Road and Rainbow Drive while removing 0.21 acres of impervious area (old parking) from Upper Paint Branch Park.The sidewalk additions are intended to improve pedestrian safety along these streets.These areas are all located within the Upper Paint Branch Watershed.The Upper Paint Branch Watershed is a designated Special Protection Area.

If you wish to request a public information meeting, a written request must be submitted to this office

within 15 days of this notice (Notice posted 1/23/2006).

The Water Quality Plans are available for review at the Department of Permitting Services office during working hours (8:00am-4:00pm Monday through Friday).

Sunday, January 29, at 2 p.m., you're invited to join Montgomery County Executive Douglas M. Duncan, elected officials, the Planning Board and the community to celebrate the grand opening of the new Germantown Indoor Aquatic Center in South Germantown Recreation Park.After the speeches, the public is invited to enjoy music, games, tours of the facility and a swim in the competition pool, a recreation pool, a leisure pool and two separate hydrotherapy pools, free until 4 p.m.

WATER AND SEWER PLAN MAP AMENDMENTS

The Planning Board will hear testimony and consider recommendations on January 26, 2006, for several water and sewer category changes, recommending that water and/or sewer service to be extended (or denied) to individual properties for the cases listed below.

Two groups of cases will be considered; one group will be decided at an administrative hearing following the Planning Board's hearing and the County Council will decide the second group.
