PRELIMINARY/FINAL WATER QUALITY PLAN

for

UPPER PAINT BRANCH SIDEWALK ADDITIONS

The proposal is to add sidewalk along sections of Briggs Chaney Road, Goodhope Road, Capemay Road and Rainbow Drive while removing 0.21 acres of impervious area (old parking) from Upper Paint Branch Park.The sidewalk additions are intended to improve pedestrian safety along these streets.These areas are all located within the Upper Paint Branch Watershed.The Upper Paint Branch Watershed is a designated Special Protection Area.

If you wish to request a public information meeting, a written request must be submitted to this office within 15 days of this notice (Notice posted 1/23/2006).

The Water Quality Plans are available for review at the Department of Permitting Services office during working hours (8:00am-4:00pm Monday through Friday).

Please mark your calendars now!You, your family, friends and neighbors are invited to join The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, the City of Gaithersburg, and the Montgomery County Departments of Environmental Protection and Permitting Services on Saturday, May 20, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Wheaton Regional Park’s Adventure Playground area off Shorefield Road for the 2nd annual Going Green at Home Fair to encourage and promote energy efficiency, cleaner indoor air and contributions to improving the environment for Montgomery County’s 338,500 households.

 

During the May 20 fair, you’ll learn about energy efficient, earth-friendly products from vendors and local experts through a series of seminars and exhibits.Children will enjoy playing with the Enviroscape as they learn about the consequences of runoff on the Chesapeake Bay, and lively music will entertain park visitors.
