TOWN CENTER ADVISORY COMMITTEE
The Montgomery County Department of Park and Planning is in the process of establishing an advisory committee for the Olney Town Center, which will help implement the goals and objectives of the recently approved Olney Master Plan. The group will assist the Department of Park and Planning in facilitating and expediting public and private actions to foster the redevelopment of the Olney Town Center including the creation of a new civic center. Membership will be limited to individuals who will represent a homeowners association, a civic association, and a property owner in the Olney Town Center or a business group in the Olney area. FORUM SET TO DISCUSS FUTURE OF LITTLE BENNETT PARK
Park users and adjacent neighbors are invited to begin discussions on the future of Little Bennett Regional Park, Wednesday, November 9, 2005 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Cedar Brook Community Church, 23700 Stringtown Road in Clarksburg. Little Bennett encompasses 3,600 acres and is the largest in Montgomery County's 32,600-acre park system. It includes a golf course, driving range, campground, hiking trails, historic sites and a brown trout fishery. Board Seeks Public Comment on
Proposed Changes to Agricultural and Large Lot Zones and Sewer Extension Policy Thursday,
November 3, 2005, 7 p.m. The Planning Board seeks public comment, Thursday, November 3, 7 p.m., on the County Council's proposed legislation to limit the percentage of a lot that can be used for buildings, paved surfaces, driveways and otherssurfaces which do not permit rain water to directly soak into the ground, in agricultural and other large-lot zones (Zoning Text Amendment 05-15); and on the County Executive's proposal to limit sewer extensions in the agricultural zone (Water and Sewer Plan Policy Amendment). The two staff reports will be available on the Planning Board web site (mncppc-mc.org) no later than 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 26. Testimony will be strictly limited to three hours, followed by the Board's deliberation and decisions on its recommendations to the County Council. To sign up in advance
