SILVER SPRING, MD—Montgomery Parks, part of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission will bring together some of the country’s leading tree experts for the 2014 Trees Matter Symposium on November 5, 2014 from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Silver Spring Civic Building. WHO: Leading tree experts from around the country will discuss innovative efforts to plant, protect and preserve trees in urban and suburban settings. Featured speakers include:
- Melanie Choukas-Bradley, Naturalist and teacher in the D.C. area, and author of several acclaimed books, including City of Trees,
- Kevin T. Smith, Supervisory Plant Physiologist, USDA Forest Service,
- Guy Sternberg, Certified Arborist, landscape architect, author and owner of Starhill Forest Arboretum,
- Matthew Foti, President of Matthew R. Foti Landscape and Tree Service, Inc. and featured arborist for WBGH’s “This Old House.”
