M-NCPPC Montgomery Parks Joins Greater Olney Civic Association and Norbeck Meadows Civic Association for Ron Berger Playground Dedication

Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 12:30 at Norbeck Meadows Neighborhood Park,
George Washington Drive at Continental Drive, Norbeck, MD 20853

SILVER SPRING, MDM-NCPPC Montgomery Parks will join with the Greater Olney Civic Association (GOCA) and the Norbeck Meadows Community Association to dedicate the Ron Berger Playground at Norbeck Meadows Neighborhood Park Saturday, September 8 from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm.

Ron Berger was a passionate civic advocate dedicated to serving his neighborhood – Norbeck Meadows – as well as the entire Olney Community. His work on the 1980 and 2005 Olney Master Plan helped shape Olney to what it is today. He was one of the founders of GOCA (an umbrella organization of Olney Homeowners and Civic Associations) and served as its President in its early days. His work on behalf of the organization and community spanned more than 30 years.

The dedication ceremony will include remarks from friends, family and area leaders who knew Ron and were touched by his work and commitment to his community. An unveiling of the playground sign will follow.

This dedication was made possible through a generous donation by both the Norbeck Meadows Community Association and the Greater Olney Civic Association to the Montgomery Parks Foundation.

The Montgomery Parks Foundation is a champion for Montgomery Parks promoting their values and benefits and providing opportunities for residents and businesses to financially support our work.
