SILVER SPRING, MD –M-NCPPC-Montgomery Parks and the Montgomery County Recreation Department are seeking public ideas and comments from residents for the 2012 Parks, Recreation, and Open Space (PROS) Plan Update.
Community input on future parks and recreation needs will be gathered at two public open houses:
Tuesday, January 24 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Attendees will have a chance to help develop a 10 to 20 year plan for providing recreation and aquatic centers, environmental preservation, trails, community gardens, skateboard facilities, dog parks, volleyball courts, and cricket pitches, as well as other traditional facilities such as athletic fields, picnic shelters, playgrounds, ice rinks, and tennis and basketball courts.
The 2012 PROS Plan Update is required under State law, and will build on earlier public comments and findings from the Vision 2030 Strategic Plan, finalized by M-NCPPC- Montgomery Parks and the Montgomery County Recreation Department in 2011.
