POTOMAC, MD—The Montgomery County Department of Parks and the Cryor family will be joined by county leaders and friends to dedicate Glen Hills Local Park to Jean B. Cryor on Monday, July 12, 2010 at 4:00 pm.
The Honorable Jean B. Cryor served the residents of Montgomery County as a Commissioner of the Montgomery County Planning Board for more than two years and as a member of the Maryland House of Delegates for 12 years. Cryor, a 36-year resident of Montgomery County, passed away of cancer on November 3, 2009. On May 27, 2010 the Montgomery County Planning Board unanimously approved the dedication of Glen Hills Local Park in her memory. A fitting tribute, Jean Cryor raised her family nearby and her three daughters played tennis and softball at this park. Over the past 14 years, she frequently visited Glen Hills with her three grandchildren who enjoyed playing on the playground equipment.
Monday’s dedication ceremony will include remarks from family, friends, colleagues and special guests and the unveiling of the dedication plaque which reads:
Dedicated in memory of the Honorable Jean B. Cryor, Maryland State Delegate and M-NCPPC Commissioner, for her civic, legislative, and policy contributions on behalf of the citizens of Montgomery County, and for her service to protect County parklands.
