MEDIA ADVISORY: Department of Parks Holds Community Meeting Jan. 7 on Parking & Access Improvements for Brookside Gardens Visitors Center

WHEATON, MD—The Montgomery County Department of Parks will hold a community meeting to discuss future renovations to improve parking and access for the Brookside Gardens Visitors Center, located off Glenallan Avenue between Randolph and Kemp Mill roads.

The Brookside Gardens master plan, completed in 2004, identified the need for improved access for pedestrians and vehicles to the Visitors Center building. At this community meeting, Department of Parks staff will present a concept for these improvements which include additional parking, improved lot circulation and better connections between the parking lot and gardens.

Public input gathered during the meeting will be considered in developing a final plan for the improvements, which will be presented to the Montgomery County Planning Board during a public meeting as the next step.  Interested community members may also submit written comments to Department of Parks Engineer/Project Manager Kimberly Paniati at 9500 Brunett Avenue, Silver Spring, Maryland, 20901 or Kimberly.Paniati@MontgomeryParks.org.
