MEDIA ADVISORY: Maryland Emancipation Day Celebration in Montgomery Parks This Saturday, November 1

OLNEY, MD—This Saturday, the Montgomery County Department of Parks will celebrate Maryland Emancipation Day with a special program at Oakley Cabin, which will include guided cabin tours, music, a public archaeology dig, old time crafts and games, a keynote address by Fath Davis Ruffins with the National Museum of American History, Behring Center, the “Underground Railroad, Not a Subway” puppet show by Puppeteer Schroeder Cherry and more.

1:00 pm – 3:00 pm, Emancipation Day Program
Oakley Cabin will be open from 12:00 noon – 4:00 pm for Emancipation Day with FREE activities for the public.
