Corporal Donald Brew is a 12-year police veteran. He was born and raised in S.E. Washington, D.C. He not only received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Fine Arts from Taylor University, but also met the love of his life there as well – perhaps the best accomplishment! Corporal Brew has been married to his college sweetheart (a native of the Bahamas) now for 12-years. They are the proud parents of an energetic 4-year old boy.
Corporal Brew is an avid cyclist and fitness enthusiast. He regularly commutes to work by bike averaging 50-60 miles round trip. He has competed in numerous bike races and is currently the criterium champion for all of Washington, D.C. and Maryland.
Corporal Brew’s parents served in the FBI for over 25-years. His journey began in the Commission by first working at the Prince George’s County Sports and Learning Fitness Center. Upon joining the Park Police, he was assigned to the Patrol Branch. Various beat assignments have given him the knowledge to understand different community needs throughout the county. While investing in the next generation, he helped to redesign the after school mentoring program Club Adventure. Corporal Brew also served in the Community Services Section where he organized engagement activities such as National Night Out, Burtonsville Day, and the Division’s Bring your Child to Work Day.
Corporal Brew is trained in Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design and Crisis Intervention developed to help officers identify and respond to those with a mental illness/deficiency and resolve conflicts through de-escalation. Due to his stellar commitment to duty, he has received several teamwork awards and other recognition.
