ROCKVILLE & WHEATON, MD—Friday, nearly 100 watched local ice skating stars from Cabin John Ice perform in its Annual Holiday Skating Spectacular and the fun and skating continues all winter long at both ice rinks in Montgomery Parks.
“It was a great show at Cabin John Ice and we’re looking forward to Wheaton’s next,” said Department of Parks Enterprise Division Chief Christine Brett.
The Holiday Ice Show at the Wheaton Ice Arena is Saturday, December 19 from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm. Admission is FREE with a new toy donation. Figure skating stars from Wheaton Ice Arena classes will take to the ice to perform their holiday magic. Also on Saturday before the big show is Wheaton Wonderland at the ice arena, from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm families will enjoy holiday games, crafts, hot chocolate, cookies and a story time with one of Santa’s elves. Admission is $5 for Wheaton Wonderland and there will be two groups with age appropriate activities for ages 3 to 6 and 7 to 12. Bring your cameras too, to get a photo with Santa on the Zamboni during the day. And, check out the holiday specials at the Wheaton Ice Arena Pro Shop, from skating boots to blades to figure sets to apparel to sports carry-alls, and more.
“It’s always cool to be on the ice,” said Brett! “And, we have some great special events planned for the winter.”
Upcoming, both ice rinks have special skating events planned for National Skating Month on Saturday, January 16, Friendship Skates on Wednesday, January 27 and Sweetheart Skates, Friday, February 12.
