WHEATON, MD—Sunday, February 8, the Montgomery County Department of Parks will celebrate the newly renovated Wheaton Indoor Tennis facility with park patrons and dignitaries.
The program of events includes tennis games, such as “Beat the Pro,” “Clock Your Serve” and a Tennis Carnival for children; refreshments; giveaways; door prizes and remarks from Planning Board Chairman Royce Hanson, County Executive Isiah Leggett, County Council President Phil Andrews and Founder and Chairman of the Friends of Wheaton Tennis Charles I. Carter.
The newly renovated Wheaton Indoor Tennis facility features central air and heating, a new insulated fabric “skin,” high-power, energy-efficient fluorescent lighting and six color-coated tennis courts. After a challenging 18-month long renovation project, Wheaton Tennis reopened to the public January 2, 2009.
