KENSINGTON, MD—The Montgomery County Department of Parks with the Kensington Heights Citizens Association, county leaders, neighbors, friends and family will dedicate the Wayne M. Goldstein Playground at Kensington Heights Neighborhood Park this Saturday, November 14 from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm.
Wayne Goldstein was a passionate civic advocate who is remembered fondly for the great sense of joy he brought to his dogged efforts on behalf of the residents of Montgomery County. In June 2009, the Montgomery County Planning Board unanimously approved naming and dedicating the playground in the Kensington Heights Neighborhood Park in honor of Wayne Goldstein. Goldstein lived in Kensington Heights since 1993.
This Saturday, the Department of Parks with the Kensington Heights Citizens Association and special guests will honor the memory of Wayne Goldstein with a dedication program that will include remarks from several county leaders, an unveiling of the playground sign and the planting of a Red bud tree in Goldstein’s memory. The Department of Parks will also present a special gift to Trenice Goldstein, Wayne Goldstein’s mother, as part of the ceremony.
