PUBLIC HEARING ON THE UPPER ROCK CREEK AREA MASTER PLAN

 

The Montgomery County Planning Board will hold a Public Hearing on the Upper Rock Creek Area Master Plan on Thursday, October 3, 2002, 7:30 p.m.

OLNEY MASTER PLAN COMMUNITY MEETINGS

 

The Montgomery County Department of Park and Planning has scheduled a series of public meetings on the Olney Master Plan Update as follows:

 

                                Thursday, September 12, 2002--Parks and Recreation

                                Tuesday, September 17, 2002--Patuxent Watershed & Resource Protection

                                Tuesday, September 24, 2002--Town Center

                                Tuesday, October 1, 2002--Land Use

 

All meetings will be held from 7:30 to 9:30 pm at the Sandy Spring Friends School located at 16923 Norwood Road in Sandy Spring.

 

Copies of the Purpose and Outreach Strategy Report, the Draft Concept Plan and other information on the Olney Master Plan Update are available online from the master plan’s web site at www.mcparkandplanning.org/olney. PRELIMINARY/FINAL WATER QUALITY PLAN

For

TRAVILAH ROAD IMPROVEMENTS

             This proposed project is to widen the existing roadway from 23 feet to 29 feet of paving, installing storm drain and adding an 8-foot wide bike path.  This site is partially within the Piney Branch Watershed (about 1300 linear feet).  The Piney Branch Watershed is a designated Special Protection Area.    

PRELIMINARY WATER QUALITY PLAN

For

STRINGTOWN ROAD EXTENDED

 

            This proposed project is to extend Stringtown Road from the existing terminus at MD Route 355 approximately 2700 feet southwest to Interstate route I-270.  The road is proposed to be constructed as a four-lane divided highway.  The site is located within the portion of Little Seneca Creek Watershed that has been designated as a Special Protection Area.

 

                If you wish to request a public information meeting for one of these proposals, a written request must be submitted to this office within 15 days of this notice (Notice posted 9/16/2002).

 

                The Water Quality Plans are also available for review at the Department of Permitting Services office during working hours. (8:00am-4:00pm Monday through Friday)
