Montgomery County Parks and Recreation Departments to Host Two Public Meetings

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD—Montgomery County’s Department of Recreation and Montgomery Parks, Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC), have scheduled two public meetings to give residents an opportunity to provide their input on the County’s parks, open spaces, trails and recreation programming.  Comments received at these meetings will help guide the long-term planning for the County’s parks and recreation services, facilities and programs.

Both public meetings will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. according to the following schedule:

  • Tuesday, February 23 – M-NCPPC Montgomery Regional Office, Auditorium, 8787 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring; and
  • Wednesday, February 24 – Upcounty Regional Services Center, Suite 1100, Meeting Room A, 12900 Middlebrook Road, Germantown.

The Department of Parks and the Recreation Department are partnering to develop the next 20-year vision planning process as it relates to facilities and programs offered by each agency.  In addition to these public meetings, focus groups and surveys will be conducted to develop a comprehensive development plan for both agencies.
