Montgomery County Planning Board and Planning Department announce April 2023 Calendar of Events

WHEATON, MD – The Montgomery County Planning Board and the Montgomery County Planning Department, both part of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC), have announced their April 2023 calendar of events and meetings. Residents can participate in Planning Board meetings by testifying in-person, testifying virtually, over the phone, and by watching the meetings on the Planning Board’s live stream. Community members may also testify by sending in written comments to the Planning Board. Information about submitting written testimony and testifying in front of the Planning Board can be found below. Contact us for accessibility accommodations.

To sign up to testify for Planning Board meetings, please go to the sign up to testify page and view individual agendas. Agendas are usually made public 10 days prior to the start of a meeting. Consult the Development Review Committee (DRC) and Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) websites for their  agenda information.

April 6 – There is no Planning Board meeting on Thursday, April 6, 2023.

April 10 – Planners will present the preliminary recommendations for the Takoma Park Minor Master Plan Amendment to the Takoma Park City Council.

April 11 – The Development Review Committee (DRC) will meet in-person and virtually. The community is invited to attend the meeting in-person or online by watching the DRC live video stream or viewing on-demand.

April 12 – The Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) will hold its meeting in-person at M-NCPPC’s Wheaton Headquarters with a virtual option available upon request. To testify on an agenda item, sign up no later than 9 a.m. the day before the hearing.

April 13 – The Planning Board will hold its meeting in-person and online.

April 18 – Planners will present the Takoma Park Minor Master Plan Amendment preliminary recommendations at a community meeting (starting at 6:30 p.m.) at Sam Abbott Citizens’ Center located at 7500 Maple Avenue, Takoma Park, MD 20912 (auditorium). If you are unable to attend the community meeting in person, you can register to participate virtually and request language interpretation.

April 18 – Attend a community meeting for the Great Seneca Plan from 2 to 4 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Chinese Culture and Community Service Center (CCACC Building, 9366 Gaither Rd Gaithersburg, MD). At the meeting there will discussion of  ideas and priorities for things like parks, transportation, and housing in the area. Registration is encouraged but not required.

April 19 – The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission will hold its monthly Full Commission meeting in-person and online.

April 20 – The Planning Board will hold its meeting in-person and online.

April 24 – Reforest Montgomery will host a webinar (12 to 1 p.m.) to discuss their programs and background on the initiative. Registration is required to attend.

April 25 – The Development Review Committee (DRC) will meet in-person and virtually. The community is invited to attend the meeting in-person or online by watching the DRC live video stream or viewing on-demand.

April 26– The Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) will hold its meeting in-person at M-NCPPC’s Wheaton Headquarters with a virtual option available upon request. To testify on an agenda item, sign up no later than 9 a.m. the day before the hearing.

April 27 – The Planning Board will hold its meeting in-person and online.

How to participate in Planning Board meetings

There are many ways to participate in Planning Board meetings:
