Montgomery Parks and Montgomery County Recreation Launch New Registration System to Simplify Program Enrollment

ActiveMONTGOMERY to launch August 17 in time for fall programs and classes

SILVER SPRING, MD—Montgomery Parks, part of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission in collaboration with Montgomery County Recreation is launching a new registration system, ActiveMONTGOMERY. The new system replaces ParkPASS and RecWeb, the two separate registration systems currently used by Montgomery Parks and Montgomery County Recreation, respectively.  ActiveMontgomery provides one location, and requires just one username and password, for people to register for classes from either organization.

“People expect technology to make their lives easier across all aspects of their lives from shopping to reading to listening to music to accessing directions,” said Michael F. Riley, Director of Montgomery Parks. “ActiveMontgomery brings this same experience to our park patrons enabling them a fast, easy way to sign up for programs, classes and reserve facilities.”

ActiveMONTGOMERY has new features (that were not available in ParkPASS or RecWeb) such as easier search functionality, mobile-friendly registration access, Google maps location services and convenient credit card registration.

“ActiveMONTGOMERY provides a broader range of registration options which will provide customers with a more comprehensive, user-friendly registration experience,” said Recreation Department Director Gabe Albornoz. “Registration is often the gateway into our programs and services, and ActiveMONTGOMERY will take registration to a more advanced level.”

To begin using ActiveMontgomery, users must set up new customer accounts at ActiveMONTGOMERY.ORG. Account set-up will take approximately five minutes and will enable people to view upcoming activities and programs planned for fall 2015.
