Notice of a Public Forum on the Proposed FY07-12
Capital Improvements Program (CIP) Budget
Thursday, April 7, 2005, 7:30 p.m. MRO Auditorium

The Montgomery County Planning Board and the Montgomery County Recreation Advisory Boards invite testimony at a joint public forum on park and recreation projects to be included in the FY 07-12 CIP. The CIP for the Department of Park and Planning includes parkland acquisition, renovation of older park facilities, and new park development. The Department of Recreation's CIP includes proposals for construction and renovation of community/recreation centers and aquatic facilities.

To present testimony at the public forum, please sign up in advance by calling 301-650-2890 by noon, April 7. There is a limit of 50 speakers; sign-ups will be accepted at the door if space is available. Submit written testimony by Thursday, April 21, 2005, to Derick P. Berlage, Chairman, Montgomery County Planning Board, 8787 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD 20910.

PLANNING BOARD RULES OF PROCEDURE - CHANGES

The Board will consider comprehensive revisions to the Planning Board's Rules of Procedure later this spring. No specific revisions have been proposed at this time. Staff seeks public comment regarding ways to improve the procedures governing Planning Board hearings. Staff seeks public comment on the Board's Rules on Monday, April 11, from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. in the Auditorium at 8787 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring. Send written comments to Michele Rosenfeld, Associate General Counsel, at M-NCPPC, Suite 205, 8787 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, Maryland 20910. After the public forum, staff will draft revised rules for public review and comment. For copies of the current Rules, please call 301-495-4646. The Board will hold a public hearing before taking any action on proposed revisions to its Rules.
